Mary and I have been working in the northern part of Thailand, in a town called Lamphun for the last 13 years.  We both feel very privileged to be a part of the developing world.  Thailand is filled with many young people who have a desire to learn more.  Our company, Fish Enterprises (Thailand) Ltd. is involved in manufacturing jewelry which we export to the US and Europe.  Our one reason for being in business is to reach people who would never go to church.  In our situation this means our workers, suppliers, customers, neighbors and friends here in Thailand.  Working together with them day by day & year by year has given us the privilege and challenge of helping them to see something that they have never seen before.   When I go out on my bike early in the morning before work, the country villages are filled with little dear hearts who are waiting for a better life.  Even the little 8 & 9 year olds are so ready to use their limited English, waving and calling out to this foreigner on his bike, "Good Morning"!   Then there are those in their late 20's early 30's, they are raised in the country with little or no opportunity for a higher education, i.e. beyond high school.  They too are looking for a better life, and enjoy learning new skills, both manual and administrative.  Many of them, given the opportunity can be very creative and efficient as their full potential is developed.  This is where business can be effective in reaching their hearts and touching their lives.   It comes home to us very clearly, "we were born for such a time as this".  Our desire is that God would be able to use this "golden opportunity" to share the truth of the gospel with each worker.  Please join with us in praying that our congregation, i.e the workers, will be touched and saved.
