This is a good question, but a difficult one to answer concisely.
First, the Mennonite Brethren (we sometimes call ourselves “MBs”) is an “evangelical” church. This means we hold the Bible as the supreme authority for truth and guidance and we believe that people must have a meaningful and personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior in order to experience eternal life.
More specifically, MBs have placed a significant emphasis on passages like the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), which emphasize a daily commitment to Christ. We strongly value the idea of “community” and believe that Christians are called to authentic relationships with other Christians.
